Rogue’s Gallery

The Rogue’s Gallery is a compilation of historic figures, bad guys and other interesting people used in the books. The gallery is organized by book and by group (e.g. Russians, Chechens). I have managed to find photographs of most of these people and list a brief biography to flesh them out. As the Terror Wars series continues, I will be adding to the gallery. Note the gallery applies to Rogue State as well. This was the first book that I decided to name names. Finally, if you have nominations for the gallery send them along!

	Akhmed Zakayev Terrorist Activity: Heavily involved with Chechen terrorist organizations He was arrested and tried in Britain during which he denied ties to the Chechen rebels. During the trial, the Russians attempted to assassinate him. However, he is still alive.
	Dzhokar Dudayev Born: 1944 Education: Graduated from the Yuri Gagarin Air Force Academy in 1974 Military Service: 1987-1990 Major General, he commanded a division of Soviet bombers based in Estonia. He was the first Chechen in history to attain the rank of Major General in the Soviet military. 1991: Following the abortive Moscow coup against Mikhail Gorbachev, Dudayev overthrew the leadership of the Chechen-Ingush Autonomous Republic and unilaterally declared Chechnya independent from Russia Political Career: First Chechen President. Died: Killed by a Russian rocket around April 21, 1996 during a period of intensified air strikes against Chechen strongholds.

	Igor Sergeyev Political Career: Was made Defense Minister of the Russian Government by Boris Yeltsin. He is also the special advisor to Vladamir Putin. Met with Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz to object to plans for an American Missile Shield.
	Vladimir Rushaylo Born: 1952 Education: Omsk Higher Police School Political Career: 1993: Became the director of the Regional Administration for the Fight against Organized Crime for Moscow 1996: Became First Deputy Director of the Chief Administration for the Fight against Organized Crime. His tenure at this position was short due to personality clashes with then First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Valerii Petrov. 1998: Became Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs 1999: Replaced S. Stepashin at the post of Russia's Minister of Internal Affairs
	Anatoly Mikh Military Service: Russian General in the war with the Chechens. In September of 2000 the Chechens demonstrated their ability to strike within Russia by shooting up Mikh’s car outside of Gudermes. He was shot five times; six soldiers were killed in the attack. He survived, but was seriously wounded.
	Igor Ivanov Political Career: Foreign Minister of the Russian government His main priority is strengthening economic ties between the US and Russia Has met with Colin Powell at the Kremlin in Moscow to discuss terrorism and other regional conflicts.
